So I don't want to brag and crow about how I got my copy of Rebirth a couple of days early, but... Who am I kidding, I absolutely want to do that! :D Although I was on the verge of thinking that it wouldn't show until today (which, y'know, still great, still early!) when I got a knock on the door at 7.45. PM, you understand. Who's still doing deliveries at that time???

Anyway, I've played through the first chapter and I'm wandering around Kalm getting hooked on Queen's Blood. It is, of course, wonderful and amazing, and I'm enjoying every minute of it, but... Wow, Square didn't learn their lesson from Remake, did they? I'm playing on graphics mode, and while there's times it's breathtakingly beautiful, there's others where... Uh, hopefully there'll be a patch to fix some of the lighting. And the pop in.

Minor bugbear though, I'll cope. ;)

I wasn't hoping for much out of The Game Awards, just a new trailer for VII Rebirth. Which I got! And it was super spoilery! XD Happy for Cid finally showing up and the Vincent face reveal, even happier that Barret's backstory is now confirmed, because there's so much to cram in I was worried some things might get lost in the shuffle...

But! An FFXVI DLC shadow drop? God damn it, I literally finally took the disc out of the PS5 yesterday so I could start playing Yakuza 2!! I'll be buying it right away, of course. I am absolutely here for more lore...

Well, that's it. The CEO cowarded out though - was advised that due to "medical reasons" he shouldn't fly out. Sure, ok, I totally believe that when he has another flight booked into his calendar on Wednesday. Didn't even show up virtually, just left it to our Director to read a pre-prepared statement. Amazing.

On the plus side, I've been motoring through Togainu no Chi while waiting for my consultation meeting. I love the game, I really do, but god damn if Keisuke's route doesn't make you sick of the word Akira... XD

I told myself, after I'd been there with a friend a few weeks ago, that I'd stay the hell away from Oxford Street in the run-up to Christmas. Naturally, that meant I found myself there again yesterday with a different friend. *sigh* My fault, as well... I think the best way to describe it is like a salmon run? A giant, heaving mass of bodies mostly moving in the one direction, and if you go against that flow...

I mean, we survived. And I got an interview-appropriate shirt and some lipstick I really didn't need but sure made me feel better. I really going to stay away from there for the next few weeks though. Honest...

Long time, no post? I keep meaning to, but it's been a real rollercoaster the past year or so, from flat woes (refurbishments, potentially losing the place, having a flatmate run out on a 12-month contract after a month...) to work (making almost all of the staff below us redundant), it's been exhausting.

Which isn't to say that there haven't been good things - got to go Japan and do the whole Granrodeo thing again, and I fell hard for FFXVI in a way I haven't for a Final Fantasy in quite some time. Plus I'm about to become an aunt, which I guess is a good thing? XD

But, yesterday, exactly one year after the last redundancies and us keeping the shambling zombie corpse of the company going as best we could, we got unofficially told that they're getting rid of the rest of us. Best of all, it sounds like bastard CEO of the company that bought and then systematically ruined us in the first place will be flying in to tell us in person. Because we're really going to want to see him...

Geez... Merry fucking Christmas, right?
